Israel on Tuesday (29/09) was preparing for the Jewish day of atonement, "Yom Kippur" with rabbis in Jerusalem performing theritual of "Kaparot." The ceremony involves circling a chicken over the head of a believer and then sacrificing it, symbolically purging the person of their year's sins.
