STORYLINE
Hundreds of people gathered in Tehran on Wednesday to protest a decision by the European Union to remove an Iranian opposition group - the People's Mujahedeen Organisation of Iran (PMOI), from its "terror list."
The People's Mujahedeen - also known as Mujahedeen-e-Khalq Organisation (MKO) - had been on the EU's list of banned organisations since 2002, but the 27-nation bloc's foreign ministers removed it on Monday in response to a string of European court decisions that went in the group's favour.
Outside the British embassy in Tehran on Wednesday the decision drew strong criticism from angry protesters opposed to the PMOI.
Waving banners and chanting "Death to America", "Death to England" and "Death to the hypocrites" the protesters denounced the EU's decision and accused them of supporting "terrorism."
Some protesters held photos of family members, allegedly killed in PMOI attacks.
Rajavi said Washington's ban on the group since 1997 was unjustified.
