Hi all
So these are dirt cheap and going temporarily onto my WR1 , whilst I get my original ProDrives blasted and repainted.
The ride is much harsher on the rear and feels only a tad harsher on the front - but overall it’s very drivable and you get the ability to lower the car if that’s what you want (inches of spare travel available). I set mine very close to stock height.
My settings:
-spring preload on front and rear set to 6mm).
-front gap between locking collars is 10.3mm, rears is 18mm.
They won’t ride any softer due to spring type.
Overall I like them but for me I prefer more comfort and originality — but they appear very well made and look awesome/easy to fit once you get all the 19mm bolts open (you’ll need a large torque wrench to loosen and tighten to the 145lbs). But once you have removed the old set and used plenty of anti-seize grease, it all goes back together very easy and easy to adjust.
I also used new 13mm m8 bolts on the 4 hose clamp mounts, plus new brake hose retaining clips (eBay £11 the set of 8 items).
Thanks all
