Since we are documenting our current "Project 211" I thought I'd take a minute to explain how property taxes work when you buy acreage in many areas. If you are not careful you could find your taxes going from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands (depending on state and a whole bunch of factors) once you buy that nice piece of land. At least in the Midwest, THIS is what you need to know about keeping your acreage taxes low once you buy that land....
