The candle she uses to light her tiny garret apartment has gone out, and she has no more matches to restore the flame. So the seamstress Mimì makes a fateful decision: She knocks on her neighbor's door for help.

The man who answers is instantly smitten with her. Rodolfo, a poet, invites her in and asks her to introduce herself, which she does in this aria, "Sì. Mi chiamano Mimì," one of the highlights of Giacomo Puccini's romantic drama "La Bohème."

Greek soprano Alexia Voulgaridou stars as Mimì, the humble seamstress who claims to have a simple life, living alone, praying alone, working alone. But when she recalls the warmth of spring pouring into her garret apartment through her small window, she reveals a poet's soul, one brimming with romance and appreciation for the small pleasures of the world: the kiss of the sun, the fragrance of flowers.
