Paragon Ragtime Orchestra performs "The Telephone Galop" (1876) by Theodore Moses-Tobani and conducted by Rick Benjamin. This historic piece celebrates Alexander Graham Bell's invention of the telephone and was composed for concerts at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition performed in conjunction with Bell's demonstrations of this amazing new device. A period illustration of one of these popular public events is displayed above the Orchestra, which finally answer's Bell's 'phone call with the correct 1876 greeting - "A-HOY! - A-HOY! - A-HOY!"
