Hello all you eager and loyal Elton John fans, I have another awesome concert to upload: Live at the Portland Memorial Coliseum in Portland Oregon on October 20, 1980! This is a part of Elton's great 21 at 33 Tour, and he has some great musicians on his band like Tim Renwick and Richie Zito on guitar, Dee Murray on bass, Nigel Olsson on drums, and the great James Newton-Howard on keyboards. With a great ensemble, Elton makes this show even better due to the fact that he is in top voice here! I actually like this show better than Central Park! The copy I got from Gregsynthwizard had two short audience clips before Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word and Imagine, so I added these audience clips to the start of these respective songs.
Elton and his band deliver awesome versions of Bennie and the Jets, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, All the Girls Love Alice, Tiny Dancer, and many others. I love this version of Rocket Man, because he sings "Pasta Man" in on chorus. Elton must have been stoned enough to sing "Pasta Man!" He also does a great version of Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting and a Also, as typical of the 1980 tour, Nigel Olsson sings solo on Saturday Night and All I Need Is You.
Enjoy one of the finest 1980 concerts!
(PS: Funny picture of Elton, don't you think! Dressed as Minnie Mouse! Of course Elton dressed as Donald Duck was funny, but this take the cake! LOL)
