Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved issue of RFP for construction of six Conventional Submarines under Project P 75 (I) for Indian Navy in a landmark first ever approval of project under the Strategic Partnership (SP) Model. DAC led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also approved proposals concerning Capital Acquisitions of various equipment for modernisation and operational needs of the Armed Forces amounting to approx. Rs 6,000 crore. This includes acquisition of air defence guns for Indian Army.
