As operating frequency increases into the millimeter-wave (mmWave) range, it is more difficult to obtain accurate data between models and measured results. Performing RF modeling at millimeter-wave frequencies can have many more variables to consider, than at lower frequencies. Higher frequency circuitry has smaller wavelengths, and the wave properties are more sensitive to variation. Additionally, there are normal differences in circuit fabrication that can influence RF performance of a circuit and some of these are more significant at mmWave frequencies. There are also normal circuit material differences which should be considered as well, when designing at mmWave frequencies.

This presentation will give an overview of many different properties that a designer should consider when designing for mmWave design and modeling for patch antenna applications. Following is the agenda:
