Kneecap Pain with Squatting

It's very common to experience kneecap pain with squatting. There are several reasons why this happens and several ways to fix it. This video focuses on one of the most common fixes for one of the most common problems.
Often, people squat "into their knees" and overload the kneecap and its associated tendons. This is why there can be pain in the moment of squatting and afterwards. The easy fix for this is to sit back into the squat more, and allow the supporting muscles in the legs to take more of the weight off the knees during the squats. The easiest cue for this is to think of sitting back into a chair.
Other reasons why this pain can occur is patellar tendinopathy, meniscus irritation, lack of proper breathing and bracing during a squat, or nerve irritation in the area around the knee. These all have their own various solutions, but "sitting back" into the squat can help with a lot of those problems, too!
