Mostar is a city in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It’s known for the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), a medieval arched bridge built in 1558. The bridge was destroyed by Kroatians during the civil war in the late 1990s and reconstructed to its former glory after the end of the war. Below the bridge the river Nevetva flows. The bridge and the nearby alleys are full of shops and market stalls, and the Old Bridge Museum explores the bridge’s long history. A narrow staircase leads up to the Koski Mehmed-Pasha Mosque’s minaret for panoramic city views.
