Recently, I sat down for a Google+ Hangout interview with digital artist and photographer, Erik Johansson. Johansson, has worked with brands such as Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Volvo, and National Geographic, but you will probably recognize him from the personal work that he frequently shares online. It has been a while since I last spoke to Erik, so I was excited for the chance to catch up with him to talk about some of his more recent images.

Johansson an exceptional Photoshop artist and storyteller, so in this interview, I wanted to focus on what inspires him, as well as how he actually creates his art. We began the interview with an overview of some of his past works. Then, we talked a bit about his pre-production process, and finally concluded with a layer-by-layer breakdown of one of his more recent Photoshop projects, as well as a sneak peek into some of the projects he has yet to publish.
