Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced that the MP cabinet approves the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana which will empower women at every level. As per the scheme, which will be launched on 5 March, Rs 1000 will be deposited in the accounts of women irrespective of their class or caste, whose age is above 23 years, said CM Chauhan. In a virtual meeting, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, “If women are empowered, then only a family will be empowered, which will in turn empower the entire society. If the society is empowered the state stands empowered and state empowerment means country's empowerment. Without the empowerment of half of the population (women), the country cannot be empowered.” Women above the age of 60, who were getting Rs 600 as pension now, will also be entitled to get Rs 1,000 from hereon, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan added.
