In what is turning out to be one of the deepest drafts since the 2003 draft class, the Miami Heat may have acquired the steal of the 2023 NBA draft.
Selected with the 18th pick, Rookie Jaime Jaquez has continued to impress. The UCLA Alum has a poise about him that shows his 4 years experience in big college basketball games has borne fruit. Among NBA rookies this season, Jaquez ranks sixth in points per game (12), ninth in rebounds per game (3.9), eighth in assists per game (2.5), third in steals per game (1.1) and sixth in minutes per game (26.6). He is second only to Chet Holmgren in True Shooting percentage and is a testament to the versatile all around game of the 22 year old.
That makes him in consideration for Rookie of the Year.
