Roger Pullin is a fisheries and aquaculture expert. Mr. Pullin explains why genetic resources are the foundations of the food factories of the world. He highlights the need of different sectors working together, as agriculture, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture occupy the same ecosystems.
As one of the Commission's priorities in the future, he stresses to continue to raise the profile of genetic resources in policy making and public awareness, so that the genetic level becomes more widely recognized as the basis for the food we eat and livelihoods associated with food production.
