Time seems to pass very quickly and it’s been already more than a year since I released my last Frankfurt video. So it's time to show you a little more of my adopted hometown Frankfurt am Main.
 
For my new video, I chose the district of Höchst, which is only about 8 km away from Frankfurt’s city centre. With a beautiful half-timbered old town as protected historical site and idyllic location on the banks of the Main river Höchst is a perfect destination for all visitors to Frankfurt.
 
I love Höchst's old town which, by the way, survived the Second World War without any significant damage. A special eye-catcher is undoubtedly Hoechst Castle which was built in several phases between the 13th and 16th centuries. Very close to the castle is Frankfurt's oldest building: the Carolingian Justinuskirche built around 830 with its three-nave basilica and 15th-century High Gothic choir. As typical for me, I focused especially on the historic old town which is really worth seeing. Follow me through the medieval streets to the various sights of Höchst. I wasn't able to show everything in details as for example the Bolongaro Palace due to its re-construction but believe me, Hoechst old town has so much to offer anyway.
