Here is what we are going to do
:
We will trade 4 measures singing or noodling to the jamtrack. This will help liberate your creativity, free your imagination. This is very important for the improvisor to practice. Let it occur naturally, don't judge yourself and freely noodle with the music.
Next, we will start working with the numbers, this will help us figure out where we can find the sounds on our instrument. After practicing the numbers together, we will alternate 4 measures jamming to the music with these sounds.
When we trade 4s singing and playing, you don't have to copy me. You can spontaneously respond to me and play your own melodies.
Are you ready? Let's Improvise.
Before we start, make sure you become familiar with the key of this jamtrack. This jamtrack is based on the second harmonic environment of the major scale of Eb. The numbers 1 to 7 in the tonal map represent the numbers of the corresponding major scale.
Remember to transpose when you play a transposing instrument.
3:00 trade 4 bars of free singing
4:16 Sing & play the numbers, trade 4 bars of singing and improvising
11:28 trade 4 bars of free improvising, no assignments
I hope this helps you design your own practice and bring out the music inside you.
