LOWELL THOMAS, CBS RADIO NEWS, DEC. 10, 1975
I greatly admired legendary broadcaster Lowell Thomas (1892-1981) and had frequent contact with him in the final years of his remarkable career. In the 1970s I recorded a number of his “Lowell Thomas Brings The News” 7 p.m. radio newscasts over CBS Radio. Check out my YouTube Channel and Playlists section for the many Lowell Thomas newscasts I’ve already uploaded and watch for more still to come. Here is the broadcast I recorded on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1975.
Among the reports: FBI Director Clarence Kelley (1911-1997) takes Congress to task regarding failing to take control of the FBI; wife of Soviet dissident Andrei Sakharov (1921-1989) accepted the Nobel Prize in Oslo, Norway, on behalf of her husband; U.S. to sell F-15 jet fighters to Israel; latest in disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa; death of early American aerial stuntman; underwater photos said to capture legendary Loch Ness Monster; Slim Quick Weight Reduction Kit shut down by the Federal Trade Commission.
