We return after having healed Frido and sold some stuff off-camera, and explore the inner sanctum of the Temple of the Forgotten God. We find the Heartstone Gem has been stolen, and a dead cleric of Talona lying at the empty alter. We also find a vial of some unknown substance. Returning to Arundel, he examines the vial and recognizes it as snake venom. He then directs us to a place known as Dragon's Eye, the only place around where snake venom can be acquired before its potency expires.

Before entering the cave known as Dragon's Eye, we are attacked by Ice Trolls, but we easily defeat them. Inside the cavern through the Dragon's Eye, we stumble upon an entire clan of hostile lizardfolk. We defeat all we come across, and venture into a part of the cave infested with giant insects and spiders. We find the body of the elf Erevain Blacksheaf, and loot his corpse, and then return to town to resupply before a second attempt at penetrating the cavern network.
