Dozens of wild robin moths, also known as the cecropia moth (Hyalophora cecropia). They are gathered around a cage of moths that just hatched from cocoons that I got from caterpillars I raised last year. This is the fifth generation of moths I have raised.
The robin moth is North America's largest native moth. They can have a wing span of 6". They are in the Saturniidae family of moths, which is the family of giant silk moths such as luna moths (4.5" wing span).
