here are some boot loops of the gigabyte z77x-ud3h
this is the worst mobo ever created
this stupid thing has 2 bios, and they both get corrupted all the time, random crashes, usb problems, sudden deaths and off course boot loops
this thing was a high end mobo, an overclock goddess, but this crap should not happen on this sort of expensive hardware
gigabyte never fixed this problem, they stopped support with no more new bios, they just dont care
there are many ways to force a bios recovery, can you believe this mobo has 2 bios and a button to clear cmos, yet sometimes you have to try other things to recover the bios, like short pins 1+6 on the main bios, removing battery, cut psu power then press power and turning psu, etc, tons and tons of methods
in my case i tried everything, and yes, ram is fine, cpu is fine, no more hardware connected, both bios of my mobo are corrupted
how did this happen, one bios got corrupted by itself, the other because i did overclock my ram from 1600 to 1800, after all, this is an overclock mobo right, well nope, this shit will boot loop and clear bios settings whenever the fuck it wants
how to fix this, well, buy a new one, not gigabyte please, never again,
2 options (mostly the same)
1) on ebay they sell some pre programmed bios chips. so you have to remove old bios chip from the mobo and solder the new one with a working bios.
2) remove bios chip and using an usb programmer, install the bios onto the bios chip, then solder it back
i will buy asus, asrock, msi next time, never again gigabyte shit
why i hate them so much, this mobo had issues since day 1, stupid via usb3 ports are crap, they needed like 2 years to fix driver problems, no more bios, tons of problems not fixed by gigabyte, dual bios crap does not work in the end, no way to restore bios in case 2 bios are bad, mobo clear cmos like crazy when it wants, debug display codes are a gimmick, you can see here many codes, they dont mean nothing, marketing gimmicks.
why did not RMA, i live outside USA, tons of money to send and buy another mobo, now i have to do it, duh, lol
btw, yes, i know i have to test with 1 stick of ram, trust me, i have 4 sticks, i tried everything, every slot, every stick, all combinations, nothign was different, and yes, cpu is fine since i test in another mobo asus z68
FIX
after trying everything with no luck, i sent the mobo to a friend, he removed both bios chip and re programmed both with a usb programmer, he just added the f18 bios to both chips, then solder them back to the mobo, they worked fine after that.
thanks a lot gigabyte, i love your fail safe dual bios shit
and the final nail in the coffin, some months later, my 6 sata ports went dead just like that, nothing could fix that, no bios, no reset, no clear cmos, no battery, nothing, all sata ports dead for no reason
