Red elder (Sambucus racemosa) is one of two native species of elder in the Pacific Northwest. The other, more common on the east side of the cascades, is blue elder (Sambucus cerulea). In this video I talk about identifying and using red elder flowers, and also about the toxicity of the different elder species.
