Tom didn't like the tune, as you can tell by his reaction. He said he wished he had played it ahead of time so he'd have known not to bring it. While it obviously wasn't a hit and doesn't deserve to be, I think it's fun enough to be heard -- and certainly he played it fine.
Clarence Woods is better known for his extremely slow rags "Sleepy Hollow Rag" and "Slippery Elm Rag". I was quite surprised to learn that he did write something peppy. This one was published in 1914.
It is called a "Castle Walk" referring to the then-famous dance team of Vernon & Irene Castle. You have heard "Castle House Rag" by James Reese Europe on my channel before which also was written for the Castles. They sure danced to up-tempo stuff!
