Millions of households will receive the final £299 payment from the government today as part of a £900 cost-of-living support scheme.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak appeared to make a bet of £1000 that his Rwanda bill would work and be in effect before the election. He has faced criticism for 'risking' such a high amount of money during a time when many are struggling financially.
