We were in Bratislava for just a day. We visited the Bratislava Castle followed by a Panoramic Drive around the city and ending up with a walking tour around the quaint Old Town of Bratislava. We explored the Old Town, walking past embassies from various countries into the heart of the Old Town with the Old Town Hall, A Jesuit Church, the Roland's Fountain, the Original Slovak Restaurant, the Konditorei Kormuth, which is a historical café and patisserie showcasing a Renaissance-style decoration. The National Theater and the Slovak Philharmonic are also located in the Old Town. Then there is "Cumil" which is a famous bronze sculpture depicting a sewer worker resting on top of a manhole and "peeping" at passersby. There is also the famous Cast iron statue of Ignác Lamár, nicknamed Schöner Náci, who became famous due to his habit of walking through the streets of the city in an elegant suit. Finally there is the Hviezdoslav Square lined with Souvenir stands, Restaurants and benches suitable for People watching. In all, Bratislava is a quaint and fascinating little City on the Danube River. Our Next Stop is Vienna [Wien], Austria. Please also join us on the next stop of our Viking River Cruise.
