July 30 - As Zimbabweans prepare to go to the polls, one area of the country where President Robert Mugabe is likely to fare particularly badly is the city of Bulawayo and its surrounding areas. Memories are still fresh of the massacres in Matabeleland in the 1980's and some complain that Government money is slow to filter down from the capital Harare to other areas of the country. It's led to allegations of favouritism and an ethnic divide.
