This session explores the role of the social worker as a non-medical ‘approved clinician’.
The Mental Health Act recommends that the patient’s approved clinician should have the most appropriate expertise to that patient’s treatment.
This session will be facilitated by 2 social workers supported by St Andrew’s Healthcare to become approved clinicians, and will share their experiences of the process, the challenges and lessons, and the positive impact that this could have on the social work workforce.
