Most people in the gym do concentric bicep curls, which is where the internal forces in your arm overcome the external forces of gravity and the weight you are holding.
In this video, I am going to show you another version of bicep curls. In this version, I use an eccentric, or muscle lengthening contraction, where the external forces of gravity and the dumbbell overcome the internal forces of the muscle.
The research shows that eccentric, or muscle lengthening contractions, break down the muscle more and lead to a greater hypertrophy response (muscle growth) than concentric muscle contractions.
So incorporate eccentric bicep curls into your workout to build bigger biceps and let me know what you think!
