The standard rates of photosynthesis experiments typically involves some bubbling pondweed and a metre ruler to measure distance from a light source to allow student to generate a graph.
Mobile phones offer a valuable piece of technology when used effectively in the classroom, showcasing how the phone can be used as a tool instead of just for socialising. Swapping the metre ruler for a lightmeter app allows students to measure light intensity (in lux) instead of the somewhat arbitrary units of distance.
