We adjust a motorcycle clutch cable on this ZX6R Kawasaki 636. The clutch hand lever had way too much free play, and would not fully engage the clutch. It was still wanting to go forward with the hand lever pulled and had trouble getting into neutral when the engine was running. In this video we show you how to adjust the slop out of the cable. The goal is to adjust the end points of the clutch cable to reduce the amount of free play caused by cable stretching during use. The cables have have adjustable ends near the engine that can be tightened or loosened to vary the amount of free play. There is also a similar clutch adjustment at the clutch hand lever. The process is simple, first, rotate the clutch adjuster on the hand control inwards to the hand lever. Second, adjust the end of the cable at the engine side until there is a small bit of free play. Typically about 3-4mm slack. Third, tighten the lucking nut on the adjusters. As long as you have a little bit of free play before the clutch engages, you should have proper operation. If this does not fix your problem, you may need a new clutch cable, or clutch kit.
