A popular dish at dim sum or just casually at home as well. Super easy to make once you have all the ingredients. The sausages and lap yuk (cured pork belly) is all dried and keep for a long time.
When I first moved to Canada and learned about making turkeys on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas and didn't think that traditional stuffing would taste good, so I thought of putting sticky rice in the cavity instead and have been doing that for the past 30 years! Ingredients:
- glutinous rice 糯米
- jasmine rice (optional)
- Chinese Sausage: Lap cheong 臘腸
- Liver Sausage: Yun chang 膶腸
- Cured Pork Belly: Lap Yuk 臘肉
- Bacon (optional, but makes everything better)
You can find all the sausages and cured meat at any Chinese supermarket.
