Forest21 is a collaborative project titled “21st Century Climate-Smart Forestry Education for Livelihood and Sustainability in South Africa”, This is a project to strengthen the South Africa forestry Higher Education. The project has been conceptualized and coordinated by Forestry South Africa, strengthen by corporation with industry and associated partners. This is a very innovated programme that involves five training institutions in South Africa and three in Europe. This programme aims at building or mainstreaming issues of climate change and entrepreneurship into forestry education. Forests are important for the global sustainability and as such, forestry institutions are critical in training future experts to save the world. The initiative has three core pillars including climate smart forestry, forestry entrepreneurship and student-centred teaching through problem-based learning (PBL) method.
