With polling in Garo Hills Autonomous District Council only hours away, security in the hill district has been beefed up. Around 1,200 security personnel have been deployed for the smooth conduction of the elections. Meanwhile, 26 polling stations have been identified as vulnerable where 2 unarmed constables and half a section of armed forces will be deployed. Polling for 57 constituencies will be held on April 12, counting of votes to take place on April 15.
