This time, our technician battles against the stopwatch. The video shows the complete wiring of the RJ45 connector. Like all FM45 connectors from R&M, the new FM45 EL Cat. 6A can be terminated very fast. R&M's quick-assembly technology and IDC wiring simplify the job. Installers can perform the assembly error-free on the very first go.
The first step is to remove the sheath and the shielding foil from the twisted-pair copper cable. Use R&M’s original handy stripping tool. Scratch the cable sheath with 3 turns to an accuracy of one tenth of a millimeter. The sheath of the data cable can be pulled off with a single movement. The shielding foil is removed just as easily and quickly.
The second step is the connection of the RJ45 plug, the FM45 EL Cat. 6A. In this video, we work with the newly designed FM45 with die-cast zinc metal housing. This housing makes the FM45 plug suitable for LAN cabling in harsh or electromagnetically stressed industrial environments.
Move the circuit block over the strands and insert the strands into the insulation displacement connectors. Cut off the overlapping wire ends. Click the housing onto the circuit block. Tight the clamping nut on the connector. And the RJ45 plug is ready for use.

The FM45 Cat. 6A EL is an Ethernet category Cat. 6A connector. It is suitable for high-speed data transmission up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet in Class EA channels according to ISO/IEC 11801. It also provides Power over Ethernet (PoE) up to the highest power level.
Installers profit from the connectors flexibility and can decide how to lay the cable, where to cut it and where to place the connector. The FM45 also enables installers to react on customer-specific requirements or plan amendments quickly.
