In this video I am installing 3 Renogy 100 watt high efficiency solar panels onto the roof of the van. I used a staggered layout where 2 were vertical and 1 was horizontal on the rear part of the van roof.
Before mounting, I tested all three panels to make sure each was putting out the rated specs that were listed with the panels. Moving on was to install the entry gland, extension cables, and finally securing the panels to the roof using Renogy Z bracket mounts, butyl tape, and the provided screws. The panels were wired in series to provide a more efficient charging solution for the panels if they were in partial shade.
All in all the application went fairly smooth without too many issues and I think its definitely a do it yourself project if you're working on a self contained power system for your van or RV.
In a later video I will cover how to set up all the wiring, fuses, and systems I used to charge house batteries and work in conjunction with powering the DC and AC applications to be installed in the van.
Thanks for watching, and as always please like and subscribe if you want to follow along and leave a comment with any questions or experiences you had while installing yours!
Cheers!
