This weekend, KU students spent two exciting, hands-on days unearthing AND piecing together the past. Led by Dr. Khori Newlander, Assistant Professor of Anthropology & Sociology, the team excavated in a general store at Joanna Furnace as part of the annual Hay Creek Festival. The festival is among the most diverse events in Berks County with more than 1,500 volunteers bringing together two centuries of history with authentic demonstrations of early American trades and crafts, mechanical technology exhibits, old time music and more!
