Two things all fast athletes have in common is they all produce LARGE amounts of force (into the ground) in the QUICKEST amount of time possible. It could be argued that not everyone is built to be fast, but one thing is for certain; with proper training, EVERYONE can improve their current level of performance. Max speed alone does not assure athletic success, every sport has different demands in terms of starting, stopping, cutting, duration, and energy systems involved. The primary goal of this program is to focus on those aspects of human movement that will improve the sport-specific speed necessary for team sports. These aspects include:
• Optimal mobility & flexibility
• Core stability
• Neuromuscular control (balance and proprioception)
• Reactive neuromuscular efficiency in all planes of motion
• Biomechanical efficiency
• Posture
• Force production (strength)
• Maximum rate of force production (power)
With the combination of these performance factors an athlete will gain the attributes associated with Speed, Agility and Quickness. Agility and quickness is the athlete’s ability to generate speed rapidly and to control that speed and change its direction in a moment’s notice. You will see these performance characteristics consistently amongst all top performance athletes. Completing our 4-week SAQ program has been shown to increase an athlete’s performance by up to 10% by improving explosiveness, control and athletic efficiency.
