Looking back on what John Chaney meant to Philadelphia, an Inquirer photographer's 2006 interview with the legendary Temple basketball coach reveals Chaney's wisdom.
"It was basically a sermon on life in many ways," said Charles Fox.
On the day legendary college basketball coach John Chaney passed away, Fox, a staff photographer with The Philadelphia Inquirer, said he immediately started going back into his personal archives to pull photographs. He re-discovered an audio recorded interview with Chaney, in which the coach talks about his upbringing in Florida and then Philadelphia, as well as Jackie Robinson's influence on sports. Chaney also shares his philosophy on legacy.
