I am using some collected tree bark to dress up a plastic container for spring. Some spring bulbs like daffodils or hyacinth would also look great here; I picked up a purple shamrock (oxalis) for St.Patrick's day and for some good luck, which we all can use more of these days. The deep purple looks great against the colours of the bark and moss.

If you actually look for it, tree bark is easy to find on the ground or out on nature walks on downed and decomposing trees. Please do not harm any living trees in an attempt to collect the bark, this project is not worth it.

Wet bark is easier to work with to shape/bend and also to cut. To wet the bark, cover with snow or submerge in water for a period of time.
