Currently available! Sterling Abernathy playing a classical piece on our Gilchrist F5 Classic! This is a stunning instrument; made in 1994, the first of a five-instrument group that Gilchrist made for the Nashville Mandolin Ensemble. They all feature his elegant, understated "Classic" styling, with Engelmann spruce top, X-bracing, black outer binding layer, no fingerboard inlays and blond finish. This mandolin was originally owned by the late Charlie Derrington. Charlie played mandola primarily in the NME, and this mandolin soon went on to a new home. This instrument has an exceptionally fine sound. It comes with its original teal/champagne Calton case. Give us a call for more information!
