AWS On Air host Nick Walsh, Sr Developer Advocate and Ron Huxter, VP and Chief Information Officer, Canadian Institute for Healthcare Information (CIHI) discuss how CIHI maintains the largest health information in Canada. They collect from all major health systems across Canada from hospitals to the ambulatory level. This data must also meet the compliance requirements of all individual provinces. CIHI made a decision to go all in on cloud, AWS won the bake off and in January 2019 the new CIO moved to an all in migration in 1 years’ time vs. 4-5. CIHI has migrated all non-prod and prod systems without setting foot in their DC during COVID-19. CIHI follows the CAF religiously adopting a full Tiger Team, CCOE and CAF maturity model. Different LOB's are now experimenting with AWS AI/ML, Database and Data Analytics services. Their story is that of enterprise strategy and business outcomes.
