A Kenyan teacher whose story was previously highlighted by Citizen Tv has won the prestigious 2019 global teacher prize, which comes with a 1 million dollar price, that is 100 million Kenya shillings. Peter Mokaya Tabichi, a Mathematics and Physics teacher at Keriko mixed day secondary in Pwani village, Nakuru county was announced the winner of the global prize on Sunday at a ceremony held in Dubai.
