Andre Villas-Boas has expressed sympathy for Tottenham fans who were attacked in a bar ahead of their UEFA Europa League game against Lazio.
And the Spurs boss's worst fears came true on Thursday night, when the game at Rome's Olympic Stadium was marred by racist chanting. Anti-Semitic chanting was aimed at the Tottenham fans with chants of "Juden Tottenham", which means "Jewish Tottenham" in German.
A banner was also unfurled bearing the legend "Free Palestine" -- which is strictly forbidden by UEFA rules. Lazio had been warned over their future behaviour when they were fined £32,500 after their fans made monkey noises in the match at White Hart Lane.
And Spurs boss AVB demanded another probe this time round -- especially after their fans had suffered on the eve of the game when a number of them were attacked in a bar.
