The CEO of the hospital along with the Chief Admin have been arrested in the Virar fire tragedy in Maharashtra. A fire broke out in Virar, killing 13 Covid patients in the ICU. An investigation had revealed that the fire audit performed by the hospital did not have any objection certificate. For days, no strict action was taken against the hospital admin, and today’s arrest was the first legal action since last week. While the state is battling with a supply shortage of oxygen, the fire breakout has raised serious alarms, with respect to the health infrastructure all across the country.
