First lady Jill Biden attended the Coronation of King Charles III with her granddaughter Finnegan Biden. The pair were seated with Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska. While in London, Biden met with Akshata Murthy, wife of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as well as the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton.
President Biden is set to make a state visit to the U.K. late this year. No sitting president has ever attended a British coronation. President Eisenhower opted out of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953.
