Dr Haki Tuaupiki from the University of Waikato's Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao – the Faculty of Māori & Indigenous Studies shines a light on his research into ancestral ocean navigation. By analysing traditional narratives in te reo Māori, he has revealed the wisdom of Polynesian ancestors, and how they used nature to guide their long ocean journeys.
