This classic sports car was first introduced in 1972 and quickly became a fan favorite for its sleek, aerodynamic design and impressive performance on the racetrack. The car's unique features, including the large rear wing and distinctive stripes, earned it the nickname "Batmobile."

The BMW 3.0 CSL is also the first BMW cars to wear the iconic M strips: red, blue and purple. Of course, the BMW 3.0 CSL racing car won several championships becoming one of the most iconic racing cars.

In this video, we explore the history of the BMW 3.0 CSL, its ties to the road legal 3.0 CSL and some of the unique features of the car. We are joined by Marc Thiesbürger, car and racing historian for BMW Group Classic, who has a few secrets to share with us.
