Beautiful and brutal is the Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia's. The third largest reserve of fresh water in the world and Unesco World Heritage-listed Los Glaciares National Park. The stunning expanse of ice on Lake Argentina covers about 97 square miles, the equivalent of 35,000 football pitches, but is constantly growing and ruptures every year. The 19 mile-long glacier is just 48 miles from the lakeside city of El Calafate.
