An interview with Saleemul Huq, the director of the International Center for Climate Change and Development and a senior fellow at the International Institute for Environment and Development on the subject of climate change adaptation.
Huq was a coordinating lead author on the IPCC Fifth Assessment chapter on adaptation needs and options. He discusses the balance between adaptation and mitigation, and the role of the private sector.
He also previews the 9th International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation, which takes place in Nairobu, Kenya, from 24-30 April, and will focus on measuring and enhancing effective adaptation.
