THE YEAR WHEN THE SUN DIED ("O Ano em que o Sol Morreu", original portuguese) is the short film debut by the brazilian director Daney Carvalho, released in 2016 at CineJardim festival in the city of Belo Jardim, Pernambuco and at the Teatro Cásper Líbero in São Paulo.
Dedicated to the late singer and heavy metal composer Warrel Dane, the independent director Daney Carvalho decided to release the film to the public via the YouTube platform. It's release marks a month of the passing of the singer. The film's title is a reference to "The Year The Sun Died" album title from Warrel's band Sanctuary.
SYNOPSIS:
Lisbella, a student of philosophy, goes through the most critical moment of her life. Around her own decay, it is up to the young girl to change the course of her life - or contemplate her own destruction.
